Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim on Sunday put up an all-round performance during the match between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs in the 11th match of the Caribbean Premier League 2023.
Wasim has proven to be a reliable middle-order batter, especially in the T20s, and today's performance just makes this statement better.
Playing for Tallawahs, Wasim came to bat after his team had an early collapse and were just 13-4 in just 4.2 overs.
The left-handed batter was a light of hope for the hopeless Jamaican side.
The 34-year-old scored 63 off just 36 deliveries and did his best to help his side get close to a massive target of 211 runs. His knock included three fours and five sixes.
Tallawahs were 36-5 when Imad formed a 97-run partnership with Fabian Allen.
Imad departed for the pavilion after scoring 63 runs, Tallawahs were 133-6 but as soon as he got out, his teammate Allen also lost his wicket after scoring 47 off 25 runs as he scored a total of six sixes during his inning.
The wickets kept falling for Imad's side and they were soon all-out for 176 runs and lost the game by 34 runs.
Imad bowled well during the first inning as well. He conceded just 26 runs in three overs with eight dot balls.
Pakistan's Mohammad Amir, who was also playing for Imad's team, took three wickets for 33 runs.
It must be noted that Imad Wasim is in red hot form in T20s this year.
In 37 matches, he delivered with the ball as well as the bat.
The 34-year-old scored 759 runs with an impressive average of 44.6 and 139 strike rate, scoring five half-centuries in the process.
With the ball, he took a total of 47 wickets with a 19.2 average and 6.35 economy, which is considered very good in modern-day T20 cricket.
